Collette Mann

I am a mixed media artist with a passion for creating unique pieces using a variety of materials, including glass, polymer clay, repurposed jewelry, and even found objects like beach glass and broken dishes. My artistic style is inspired by Eastern European icons, and I love incorporating symbolic images to convey mystical ideas that invite individual interpretation.

My Artistic Themes

Some common themes in my work include:

Unity of Community,
which reflects her desire to highlight the connections that bring people together.

The Language of Flowers,
which explores the symbolic meanings behind different blooms.

Alternative Medicine and Wellness,
reflecting her background as a public health nurse.

My Creative Process

I enjoy working with different mediums, often combining techniques to create intricate, layered pieces. I am particularly drawn to mosaic art, appreciating the ancient technique of hand-cutting glass and grouting pieces to form a cohesive structure. More recently I am exploring collaborating with my husband on incorporating mosaic inlays into wood bowls. I enjoy repurposing recycled items and giving old forgotten items a new life. This is particularly satisfying when working on a sentimental commission for a client.
